MALKUTHA WORLD
WELCOME TO
We believe Heaven on Earth is possible.
Our vision is great.
The need is greater.
There are three essentials to the heart of this ministry. The first is our determination to have fun. In a world that seems to lurch from one tragedy or disaster to another we need to laugh .. not at the world .. but with one another. Our default position will be joy .. that we have made it this far .. and that we choose to be bound by the premise that levity will bring as much or more change to this world than any negative emotion.
The second essential is faith. We have a deep and abiding belief that we are being called to action at this time and in this place by a force that cannot be denied or ignored. This is a call we choose to answer. It may cost us friendships .. it may cost us family .. it may cost us our lives. It matters not. We will do what we believe we are being called to do. Which is the third tenet of this ministry.
We will do good .. we will explore how to use our many talents and treasures for the good of others .. and we will do so .. to the very best of our abilities. There will be no area that is not open to consideration by our Board of Directors. We may start by feeding hungry children and being farmers .. but whatever area the Board of Directors agrees needs to be considered will be considered and acted upon .. given the consent of the majority.

HOW TO GET
INVOLVED
MaiKana {my-kah-na}
Malkutha MaiKana (come and eat/be nourished) will provide a nutritious hot meal to each child at each school in Fiji, preferably at breakfast time. Children may need more than one meal, but we will begin with breaking the fast of each hungry child each school day. Our program will be modelled after the Canadian organization: The Breakfast Club https://www.breakfastclubcanada.org/.
A hot meal, at least once a school day, to each child who is hungry. And a cool drink, and some fruit. This will cost about Cdn $2.00 a child per day. Cdn $40.00 per month per child. The average classroom has about 35 children, so to sponsor a classroom is Cdn $1,500 per month.
Local cooks will prepare the nutritious meals at the school and ensure no child is left out. All ingredients will be purchased from local farmers, where possible, supporting the local economy.
All meals will be prepared daily as there is limited availability of cool storage or dependable electrical services.
We will begin in remote rural schools where the need is greatest.
YOU CAN HELP !!
Click to donate a single meal, a group of meals for a whole class, or contribute to the whole school.
Malkutha Farms
All our efforts must be farm-centered, grounded in the earth. Land will be acquired in order to begin to produce the food necessary to expand the outreach of MaiKana. We will enable street folk to be trained in honest and meaningful work that will provide them an income and emotional support, living together with a supporting community.
We will raise organically certified food. We will be self supporting and self sustaining. We will offer training and support to the wider community. We will share resources, especially new techniques and market driven opportunities.
We require financial support of Cdn $1,000 per acre, based on a minimum 250 acre farm. Operating expenses of Cdn $10,000 per month until the farm reaches self sustaining status. Please watch: https://www.apricotlanefarms.com/biggest-little-farm/ for a sense of what Malkutha Farms will become, and more.
“No child should have to go to school hungry.
With the help from the MaiKana program, we have been able to support our students better than ever.”
